The 2017 Ford Escape is one of Canada’s favourite compact crossovers. Here’s why:

The 2017 Ford Escape

Ford has brought its compact crossover a long way from the boxy adventurer of the century’s turn. For 2017, Escape is more stylish than ever. The grille is sharper and the shoulders, like those on most of Ford’s SUVs, blend more naturally into the rest of the vehicle. On the road, the Escape is still confident and capable – it’s smarter, too. Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information System, Lane-Keeping Assist, and Active Park Assist are all available. But that’s just the beginning. So, here’s a breakdown of the things you’ll find on each model of the 2017 Escape:

Escape S (MSRP: $24,349)

2.5L i-VCT delivers 168 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque. That power is managed by the standard six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift. Torque Vectoring Control, traction control, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, and Electric Power-Assisted Steering are standard also. The combination of these technologies makes the Ford Escape a confident driver on most terrain. Other standard features include:

  • 17-inch Steel Wheels
  • SYNC & 4.2” Touch Screen
  • Rear View Camera
  • Dual Chrome Exhaust

Escape SE (MSRP: $26,849)

The Escape SE offers an elevated driving experience and gives drivers access to available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. It comes with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine. Its fuel economy of 10.2L/100 km city and 7.8L/100 km hwy is the best among the Escape’s engines. Also, with standard auto start/stop technology, the fuel savings only get better. Other standard SE features include:

  • 17” Silver-Painted Aluminum Wheels
  • Dual-Zone Climate Control
  • Heated, Front Seats
  • Fog Lights

Escape Titanium (MSRP: $33,049)

Titanium is the highest trim for the Ford Escape. It offers the best in comfort, performance, and style. Inside, you’ll find leather-trimmed, heated seats; a heated steering wheel, and ambient lighting. The sharp exterior design is punctuated by 18-inch sparkle silver painted aluminum wheels and a silver-painted chrome grille. Finally, the Escape Titanium has a 2.0L Twin-Scroll EcoBoost engine with 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque. Also, the Escape Titanium boasts:

  • SYNC 3 and SYNC Connect
  • 10-Speaker Sony audio
  • Leather-Trimmed Seats
  • BLIS Cross-Traffic Alert

Obviously, whichever model you choose, you’ll get the flexibility and style that have made the Escape one of Canada’s favourite crossovers.
