August 27th, 2020 by

The F-150 is built to work hard and play hard-  it makes tough tasks look easy courtesy of a countless number of functions that help you hit the road. Read on to discover why the F-150 has been the bestselling truck in Canada for over 40 years.

Exterior Features

The Ford F-150 features a high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body and bed — the same 6000 series used in military and industrial applications. The result? Available best in class payload and up to 13,200 lbs of available towing. Hardening aluminum alloy through heat-treating produces greater strength and working with aluminum alloy also allows engineers to increase gauge (or thickness) where needed to achieve extra strength without increasing weight. The stronger F-150 weighs up to 700 pounds less than the previous generation, resulting in greater power-to-weight ratio and enhanced fuel efficiency.

Fully boxed high-strength frame. The fully boxed frame is made of high-strength steel (up to 78 per cent) and larger cross sections than the frame in the previous generation. While being stronger and more rigid, this frame is also lighter but up to 60 pounds because many of the components are fabricated using a state-of-the-art roll-forming process that minimizes weight.

Best-in-class payload and impressive towing capabilities. By using a lightweight and high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy and high-strength steel frame, F-150 engineers we able to reduce weight and increase payload at the same time. Greater strength with less weight helps achieve an available best-in-class max 3,270-lb payload rating. The 5.0L V8 engine features a port-fuel and direct injection (PFDI) system with two injectors per cylinder- one in the air intake port and another inside the cylinder- to improve power and efficiency. Impressive ratings include 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft of torque.

Interior Features

A first-class interior means first-class storage, and the F-150 provides plenty of space to store anything and everything you want to bring along for the ride. Standard door-trim panels are augmented with an under-seat rear storage area, and there’s space for a laptop and hanging folders inside the available flow-through centre console. Plus, the F-150 SuperCab and SuperCrew models feature a fully flat rear load floor for more usable storage and easier access.

The 2020 F-150 offers not only best-in-class payload but also a hard-working, smart pickup box that can be equipped to make work easier and maximize productivity. Available features include LED box lights, stowable loading ramps, integrated tailgate step with lift assist, remote tailgate release, deployable box steps, and so much more!
