Vehicle Feature of the Month- 2020 Escape
The completely redesigned Escape was designed, engineered and built for a life in motion. From the spacious new interior to the sleek, head-turning lines of the exterior, the newest Escape was built for adventure on the road and a lifestyle on the go.
Whether you want award-winning appeal and safety features or helpful technology and powerful capabilities, the 2020 Escape has it all.
There are six trim levels to choose from; S, SE, SE Sport Hybrid, SEL, Titanium, and Titanium Hybrid. Lucky for you, we have all trim levels in stock! Check out our website for an up to date stock list.
The newest Escape has selectable drive modes designed to help improve your driving experience and handling on various road surfaces. Once a mode is selected (you can choose from Eco, Sport, Normal, Slippery, and Deep Snow/Sand), it will modify the electronic stability control system and traction control system without you having to do anything.
Normal mode: Self-explanatory. Perfect for everyday driving, this mode is the perfect combination of excitement, comfort and convenience.
Eco mode: For efficient and responsible driving. This mode helps deliver maximum fuel efficiency and increases driving range.
Sport mode: This mode increases throttle response, providing a sportier steering feel, along with quicker shifting. The suspension also stiffens, with an emphasis on handling and control.
Slippery mode: For firm surfaces covered with slippery or loose material like ice, water, grass or a thin layer of gravel or sand.
Deep Snow/Sand mode: This mode helps keep your vehicle under control in deep snow or soft, dry sand.
In addition to Winnipeg winter-friendly drive modes, the Escape has cold-weather features that help you stay comfortable and in control, even when the weather drops. These features include:
- Heated steering wheel (Standard on SEL and above)
- Heated seats (Standard on SE and above)
- Remote start (Standard on SEL and above)
- Floor liners (Optional on all series)
- Windshield wiper de-icer (Heated wiper park) (Standard on S and above for Gas models and Hybrid)
- Engine block heater (Standard on all models)
One thing we can’t fail to mention is the 2020 Escape’s stellar towing capacity. The Titanium trim, with its 2.0L EcoBoost engine has a maximum towing capacity of 3,498 lbs. when equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package. The standard 1.5L EcoBoost engine can tow up to 1,999 lbs. (when properly equipped). And don’t forget about hybrid capability, because when properly equipped, the Hybrid is powered by the 2.5L I-4 and can each tow up to 1,499 lbs.
The Escape presents a three-engine lineup; the standard 1.5L EcoBoost engine, the available 2L EcoBoost engine, and the 2.5L Atkinson-cycle powertrain features an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and an 88kW electric motor (comes standard on all Escape Hybrid models).
Enjoy your personal sound studio, wherever you go. New for 2020, the available B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen (standard on Titanium) offers a dynamic, immersive listening experience for everyone on board.

Smart hardware, smart software, smart design; that’s SYNC 3. SYNC 3 also brings you the power of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility to your Ford. Check out our SYNC blog feature for a complete rundown of this awesome technology system.
The Escape has a distinctive new look for 2020. Redesigned with sportier lines that give it a premium feel, the attention-grabbing new Escape will change the way you look at every other SUV. Its interior has also been redesigned with all the features and conveniences that help make travelling and exploring more comfortable. A new rotary gear shift opens space on the centre console and helps improve overall front-row comfort.
With standard second-row 60/40 split-fold seats and an all-new sliding feature, there’s more space for more fun. Plus, the redesigned interior offers best-in-class second-row legroom.
Thanks to the available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate, there’s no need to fumble for keys. Its hands-free operation is especially helpful when your arms are full of items like grocery bags. With the available Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, kick your foot under the bumper and the liftgate opens. You can also adjust the liftgate height, which is helpful for lower overhangs. Hands-free liftgate is standard on the SEL and Titanium trim levels.
We’re not the only ones who love the new Escape, the vehicle was named an IIHS Top Safety Pick and was awarded the J.D. Power Award for #1 in Driver Appeal. We can talk about this vehicle all day, but we prefer to let its accolades speak for themselves.
It’s one thing to read about a vehicle’s features and technology, but it’s another to actually experience it for yourself. Ready to get behind the wheel of the new Escape? Contact us, or book a VIP Test Drive and we’ll handle the rest!
